Home: Welcome
Inspired by the traditional art form of Filografi, Zoë developed a new art technique to create her portraits of iconic subjects such as John Lennon, David Bowie and Nelson Mandela.
At first the portraits appear to be pen and ink drawings but on closer inspection it is discovered that they are in fact created entirely from fine wire and tiny nails on board. Look closely and you will be amazed by the intricate nature of the detailed wirework which layered to create the features. Each portrait has been constructed using hundreds of metres of fine enameled copper wire and thousands of tiny nails with the artist painstakingly placing the nails to which the wire is attached. The unusual portraits have a slightly three-dimensional effect and are sure to surprise and intrigue all who view them. Take a look at her selected works, and please do get in touch for more information.
